Bio

Sina Khani (aka Sina Ahmadkhani), born in 2000 in Tehran, Iran, is a filmmaker whose passion for storytelling emerged during his undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology. While pursuing his degree, he independently developed his voice as a director, culminating in his debut feature film, Tell the Wind Too, shot in Mazandaran. The film, a stylized meditation on loss and human folly, premiered at the NYC Independent Film Festival.

Khani later moved to the United States to further his artistic practice and earned his Master of Fine Arts in Photography and Film from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2025. During his time at VCU, he wrote and directed two short films, Sunlight, Veiled and Watch with the Weary Ones, both of which explore themes of displacement, identity, and memory through a deeply personal lens. Blending innovative cinematography with character-driven storytelling, Khani’s work reflects a commitment to poetic visual narratives rooted in diasporic experience.
